ICE NUTZ NHL 1976-77 SEASON TEAM CARDS

The Montreal Canadiens (132 points) win a record 60 games in the 60th season of the NHL. For the second straight year, the Habs sweep their opponent in the finals to repeat as Stanley Cup champions. This Montreal unit is considered by many to be the greatest NHL team of all-time. Though overshadowed by the Canadiens greatness, there are some excellent teams competing for the cup this season. The Boston Bruins (106) look impressive all the way to the finals, the New York Islanders (106) are on the rise and take the Habs to six games in the semi's. The Flyers (112) are still big bullies and have the second best record in the league. The Buffalo Sabres (104) lean on stifling defense and solid net minding to win 48 games. Two franchises move to new homes, the Kansas City Scouts become the Colorado Rockies and the California Golden Seals become the Cleveland Barons. 

Montreal's Guy Lafleur (56 g, 80 a, 136 p) wins the Hart Trophy as league MVP, while his teammates Ken Dryden (41-6-8, 2.14 GAA) and Michel Larocque (19-2-4, 2.09 GAA) claim Vezina honors. Lafleur also wins the Conn Smythe as MVP of the playoffs. Willi Plett (33g, 23 a, 56 p) of the Atlanta Flames brings home the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie. Steve Shutt of the Canadiens leads all scorers with 60 goals.

Also included is an ADDITIONAL PLAYERS ROSTER SHEET featuring 5 additional skaters from each of the 18 teams to be used for substitutions and/or a 4th line.
