Toronto wins its second consecutive Stanley Cup in a tightly matched playoff pool...only 5 points separates the number one Maple Leafs from the 4th place Detroit Redwings. Montreal and Chicago are sandwiched in between. However, come playoff time Toronto's deep & balanced squad will distinguish themselves from the pack in grandiose fashion. The Leaf's start out by pounding the Canadien's 4 games to 1 in the Semi Finals, then go on to do the same to Detroit in the Finals. Leaf's "near-sighted" goalie Johnny Bower is fantastic throughout the playoff run and finishes the post season with a 1.60 GAA. Redwing's legend Gordie Howe is getting better with age. Howe, with 86 Points, is the league's leading scorer & Most Valuable Player. Chicago's Glenn Hall (2.55 GAA) claims the Vezina Trophy as top goaltender.
