DICE NUTZ PRO FOOTBALL 1969-70 AFL SEASON CARDS (10 TEAMS) $15.00

THE 1969-70 AFL SEASON:

This is the 10th and final season of the AFL, as the league will merge with the NFL the following year. The Kansas City Chiefs (11-3) defeat the New York Jets (10-4) in the AFL divisional playoff 13 to 7, and then enjoy a 17 to 7 victory over the Oakland Raiders (12-1-1) to claim their third AFL Championship. The Chiefs, wearing their special 10th anniversary AFL logo patches, "matriculate the ball down the field" to a 23-7 thumping of the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. The Jet's rock star QB "Broadway" Joe Namath is named league MVP for the second straight season, but it is the Raider's "Mad Bomber" Daryle Lamonica who leads the league with 3302 passing yards. Lamonica's teammate Warren Wells tops all receivers with 1260 of those yards. San Diego Charger's (8-6) elusive halfback Dickie Post leads all runners with 873 rushing yards. K.C.'s sticky-fingered corner Emmitt Thomas, snares a league best 9 interceptions.
