Now these and other fantastic matchups can happen with HOOP NUTZ HISTORIC TEAMS COLLECTION. Each card set features twelve of the greatest & most colorful teams in NBA history. Play them against each other, or see how they match up against the current greats!

 

Set I: 

1964-65 Boston Celtics: Boston wins it's 8th Championship. K.C. Jones, Sam Jones, Tom Heinsohn, Bill Russell and John Havlicek are all future hall of famers. Bill Russell is the league MVP.  

 

1985-86 Boston Celtics: Larry Bird wins his third consecutive league MVP award. The Celtics win their 16th Championship. Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, Dennis Johnson & Danny Ainge round out this elite starting five.

 

1992-93 Chicago Bulls: Michael Jordan is the finals MVP and Associated Press Athlete of the Year. The Bulls win their 3rd and last Championship before Jordan's first retirement. 

 

1988-89 Detroit Pistons: The original "Bad Boys" bring championship hardware to Detroit with a sweep of the Lakers in the finals. Bill Laimbeer, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Dennis Rodman lead a cast of colorful characters.

 

1993-94 Houston Rockets: Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon leads the Rockets to their first NBA Championship. Hakeem is league MVP and Defensive Player of the year. 

 

1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers: LA wins it's 6th Championship after going 69-13 in the regular season, a record that would stand for 24 years. Wilt Chamberlain leads the league in shooting percentage (.649).

 

1986-87 Los Angeles Lakers: The great Magic Johnson & Kareem Abdul-Jabbar lead an explosive team. The Lakers take the Celtics down in six & bring home a 10th Championship. Magic is the finals & league MVP.

 

1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks: Milwaukee wins a champtionship in only it's third season of existence. Lou Alcindor (he changes his name to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the off-season) wins the Finals & League MVP honors. Oscar Robertson is a key acquisition for the run to a Championship. 

 

1994-95 Orlando Magic: Shaquille O'Neal is the League's Scoring Champion. The Magic are the Eastern Conference Champions, but are swept by Houston in the finals.

 

1984-85 Philadelphia 76’ers: Charles Barkley, "The Round Mound of Rebound's" rookie season. He joins a veteran team that includes Dr. J and Moses Malone. Despite a talent-laden roster, the Sixers cannot advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

 

1990-91 Portland Trailblazers: An incredible 63-19 regular season record leads to a Pacific Division Champtionship, breaking a 9 year run by the LA Lakers. However, the Lakers would get revenge in Western Conference Finals. 

 

1997-98 Utah Jazz: The Jazz advance to the NBA Finals for the 2nd straight year, but the juggernaut Bulls dynasty prevails once again and denies Karl Malone & John Stockton championship glory.
